WALK ON WATER!
One
time, after Jesus had spent all day healing and teaching in the
hills, He sent His friends on ahead in the boat. Then He went up
a mountainside, on His own to pray. When evening came, He could
see them out on the Lake, rowing against a strong wind. During
the night he went out to them, walking on the lake! They all saw
Him and were terrified!
Immediately, Jesus spoke to them, "It's only Me, don't be afraid." Then Peter called out, "Lord, if it's You, tell me to come to You on the water."
"Come,"
Jesus said.
Then
Peter got down out of the boat and walked on the water towards
Jesus. But when he saw the wind he was afraid and beginning to
sink he cried out, "Lord, save me!"
Immediately, Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. "Why didn't you TRUST Me," asked Jesus, "why did you doubt Me?" Then they climbed into the boat and the wind died down. All the disciples worshipped the Lord Jesus and said, "You really are the Son of God." Then they sailed for the shore.
Well children, how could the Lord Jesus walk along the top of the water, like you and I walk on the path? Yes, of course it was because He is the God who made the Lake and the water!
Why was Peter in trouble? Because He looked around at the waves and took his eyes off the Lord Jesus. He forgot to TRUST.
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS TRUST JESUS, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS.
What a
wonderful God Jesus is!
PRAYER
"Dear Lord Jesus, You are the GOD who made the Lake and walked on it, as if it were a path. You saved Peter from drowning and You can SAVE me from SIN and HELL. Thank You Lord. Amen."
"... if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." ROMANS 10:9.
