LADY SAVES BABY!
The Hebrew woman didn't want her baby boy killed by the King of Egypt, so she put him in a basket and placed the basket in the River Nile. The baby's sister, Miriam, who was twelve, watched to see what would happen to her little brother. As she watched, a very important lady came down to the water to bathe. It was the King's daughter, the Princess of Egypt! She saw the basket, among the reeds and sent her slave-girl to get it. She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying and she felt sorry for him. "This is one of the Hebrew babies," she said.
Miriam saw her chance. She hurried over to the Princess and asked, "Shall I get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?"
"Yes, go,"
said the King's daughter.
So, Miriam went and fetched her mother. The Princess said to her mother, "Take this baby and nurse him for me and I will pay you."
So, the baby's mother took him and nursed him for the Princess. When he got older, his mother took him to the Princess and he became her son. She called him MOSES.
Later on, we will see that Moses became a great LEADER of God's people, the Hebrews. But for now, it is good to learn how the LORD kept Moses SAFE as a small baby on the huge River Nile and how the LORD sent the daughter of the King, who wanted to kill him, to be his saviour and to rescue him from death.
The LORD has not sent a
Princess to SAVE you and me, but HE has sent a PRINCE, His own
Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to DIE for our sins on the CROSS.
PRAYER
"Dear Father God, thank You for sending Your own Son, Prince Jesus, to DIE for my SIN on the CROSS. I am SORRY for my SINS. Please FORGIVE me. Amen."
