A CRUEL KING!

In our previous lesson,
we learned about the wise men discovering a special STAR. Well,
they packed their camels and donkeys and traveled for many miles.
Day after day they journeyed and night after night the STAR moved
ahead of them. At last they came to the city of JERUSALEM.
They began to ask people,
"Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw
his star in the East and have come to worship him."
When King Herod heard about this he was very ANGRY, indeed! He called together men who understood the Bible, and asked where CHRIST was to be born. "The Bible says in Isaiah, that He will be born in Bethlehem," they told Herod.
Then the King sent for
the wise men. "Go to Bethlehem," he told them, "and
when you find the child, report to me, so that I too may go and
worship him." But King Herod was telling lies.
You know, children, he
didn't really want to find the child JESUS to worship Him. No, he
wanted to find the child JESUS to KILL HIM. How terrible!
You see, King Herod was
JEALOUS because he didn't want another King around, while he was
King! 
He
wanted to be the BOSS! Sadly, he didn't realise that the LORD
JESUS was the KING from HEAVEN, who had come to DIE on the CROSS
for Herod's sins and for the sins of the whole world.
Still today, there are many people in the world who refuse to give their lives to the LORD JESUS, because like King Herod, THEY WANT TO BE BOSS! Don't YOU be like them! Put YOUR trust in the LORD JESUS right NOW, and make Him the BOSS and KING of YOUR life.
PRAYER
"Dear Lord Jesus, help me to TRUST in YOU today and make YOU my BOSS and my KING. I am SORRY for my SINS. Please FORGIVE me. THANK YOU for dying for me on the CROSS. Please COME into my HEART and LIVE in me for ever. Amen."
