SNAKE ON POLE!
We hope
you haven't been grumbling today, like the people Moses was
leading through the desert. They were always moaning about things,
even though the 
LORD was so good to them, looking after
them and giving them FOOD and WATER.
Well, in this story they are GRUMBLING again. They were getting IMPATIENT on their journey and they spoke against GOD and against MOSES. "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the desert?" they moaned, "There is no bread! There is no water! And we hate this awful food!" They were so UNGRATEFUL, children weren't they? Sometimes we can be like that too; we think about the things we haven't got and forget to be GRATEFUL for all we have got!
Get yourself a little piece of paper and write down something YOU are GRATEFUL for today ________________
You know children, that because the people were so ungrateful the LORD sent poisonous snakes among them. They bit the people and many of them DIED. Then the people realised how UNGRATEFUL they had been and they came to Moses and said they were SORRY. "We have SINNED against the LORD and against you." they said, "PRAY that the LORD will take the snakes away from us."
So Moses PRAYED for the people. He still LOVED them though they had been nasty to him.
The
LORD told Moses to make a SNAKE out of bronze metal and put it on
a pole. Anyone who had been bitten by a 
snake could look
at the snake on the pole and they would live! So Moses did what
the LORD had told him. He made the metal snake and put it on a
pole. The people who had been bitten and were dying looked at the
snake and were healed. They LOOKED and LIVED!
Well kids, this reminds us of the CROSS with the LORD JESUS hanging on it. He DIED there for our sins and if we LOOK to JESUS and put our TRUST in Him we shall LIVE for ever in Heaven.
LOOK TO JESUS CHILDREN. LOOK AND LIVE!
"Look to me and be saved.." ISAIAH 45:22
PRAYER
"Dear Lord Jesus, YOU hung on a CROSS of wood so that I could LOOK to YOU and LIVE for ever in Heaven with YOU. I am so GRATEFUL to YOU LORD. Amen."
